Niacinamde (Vitamin B3)
Substantially delays Trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) with greater efficiency than occlusive agents such as petrolatum. Topical Niacinamide has a proven anti-inflammatory effect and studies postulate that it will become an important adjunct in the management of various inflammatory dermatological diseases such as rosacea, dermatitis, psoriasis etc.
Benefits of this ingredient include:
- Substantial reduction in hyperpigmentation
- Topical 2% Niacinamide reduces sebum production and subsequently reduces pore size
- Topical 5% Niacinamide improves Rosacea. It is postulated that this is a direct result of a profound reduction in TEWL and improved skin barrier function
- Topical 5% Niacinamide proven to offer long term substantial improvement in fine, lines and wrinkles and skin texture
